On March 4, in Athens (Greece), the head of the “Union of Television and Film Industry Entrepreneurs” Artem Koliubaiev and volunteers of the union Sargis Sargsyan and Elvira Gavrilova held a charity evening with the support of the Embassy of Ukraine in Greece in the person of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Hellenic Republic Serhiy Shutenko and with the support of Governor of Khmelnytskyi Oblast Serhiy Hamaliy. As part of the evening, an auction was held, at which UAH 1,740,000 was collected.
Artem Koliubaiev, head of the “Union of Television and Film Industry Entrepreneurs”, who supported the evening with his presence, noted: “For our union, it was important not only to collect funds for ambulances, but also to unite the Greek and Ukrainian peoples. And we managed to realize both goals.”
The lots presented at the auction:
Oleksandr Usyk’s boxing gloves with his autograph, which went under the hammer for UAH 240,000. By the way, the Ukrainian boxer joined the concert remotely thanks to the live broadcast with Athens;
the flag of Ukraine with the signature of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny, provided by the Ukrainian military correspondent and public figure Roman Bochkala. The lot was sold for over UAH 500,000;
a ball and a t-shirt from the Ukrainian national football team with the autographs of the legendary players of “Dynamo Kyiv” — Oleg Protasov, Oleksiy Mykhailichenko, Dmytro Demyanenko;
lots from the Ukrainian clothing brand Kate Lab, which dresses the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi;
art objects provided by the “International Parliament of Mothers”;
lots from the personal collection of HRH Crown Princess Katherine of Serbia, who also supported the evening.
The unique lot was a set of gloves from the Klitschko Brothers, which went under the hammer for half a million hryvnias.
The presenters of the evening were Yuriy Gorbunov and Kateryna Osadcha, who expertly raised the bids for the lot, thereby increasing the amount of fees for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The cap, which Ukrainian performers Mykhailo Khoma (Dzidzio) and Oleksandr Ponomariov let into the hall after their performance, and which returned to the stage with 200,000 hryvnias, helped to increase the collection. By the way, the premiere of their song “Hey, Falcons!” took place at this event organised by the volunteers of the union Sargis Sargsyan and Elvira Gavrilova.
We would also like to emphasize that the evening was supported by the presence of the embassies of Italy, Poland, Moldova, Austria, Montenegro and Turkey to the Hellenic Republic, as well as top Greek artists Eirini Papadopoulou and Christos Menidiatis.
The organizers of the evening, Sargis Sargsyan and Elvira Gavrilova, emphasized that the preparation for the evening was not easy, and the volunteers faced a lot of difficulties along the way, but God sent them the right and caring people. Sargis Sargsyan and Elvira Gavrilova said: “We are grateful to the public organization “Ukrainians in Greece”, the representative of the foundation “Battalion Volunteer” Oleksandr Prykhodchenko, dentist Khrystyna Medynska, director of the company “VASH CENTER” Anatoly Kuchirko, girls from Candy Cat, Deputy Head of the United Ukrainian Diaspora in Greece Oksana Koziy and others. I would like to remember everyone who helped and supported us on the way to organizing our charity evening.”
The evening was attended by more than 1,000 guests who came from all over the world to support Ukraine. The hall was decorated with Ukrainian symbols, the tables were decorated with chernozem and sunflowers, which certainly impressed all the guests. And, of course, the dishes of the best cuisine in the world – Ukrainian – were served.
