Clubhouse recently debuted the ‘Backchannel’ messaging platform as a way to extend users’ conversation beyond live rooms and audio chats. The direct messaging service offers both 1:1 and group chat, and an optional second inbox for message requests.The Backchannel feature will allow users to discuss their rooms in real-time, meaning if the user is a speaker, they can chat with their co-host, or as a listener, chat with other audience members. In addition, speakers can receive questions from the audience via text or say thank you to someone who has sent a payment, plan events, and more.
