Border Biscuits Has Removed 90% of the Plastic from its Packaging
Concerns surrounding plastic waste are pushing brands to create more sustainable packaging, which is being observed through new initiatives as seen with Border Biscuits. The brand as removed 90% of the plastic in its packaging to put a focus on the recycled cardboard that it uses instead. This shift has also been paired with a 50% reduction in the weight of the packaging for its Classic, Ginger and Traditional lineups to further reduce the brand’s carbon footprint when it comes to shipping.
The new packaging initiative was explained by Marketing Manager at Border Biscuits Suzie Carlaw who said, “Innovating to reduce single-use plastic has been a key focus over the last 12 months and our new packaging means we can address the environmental concerns of our customers without compromising on the high quality of our beautifully crafted biscuits.”
