Uplifting Urban Gyms

Asics and mental health charity Mind are turning the streets of Retford in Nottinghamshire into an urban gym to inspire people to move their bodies and better their minds. After a challenging few years, Asics found that Nottinghamshire is the English county where people rated their mental state the lowest, with 80% of people saying they’d benefit from a mental boost.To motivate residents to improve themselves, physically and mentally, the partnering companies are inviting people to participate in movement initiatives like exercise pop-ups. Using the Asics mind uplifter tool, people can measure their state of mind before and after a 20-minute exercise circuit. Data collected from this tool will feed into a live global study that shows the positive impact of sports on the collective mood of global cities.
