Kinfolk and Umbro Advance the Ethos of Brazilian Streetwear

English sportswear giant Umbro joins forces with Brooklyn-based label and “nightlife destination” Kinfolk for a co-branded capsule that embraces Brazilian streetwear. More specifically, the collaboration focuses on representing the design sensibilities of the youth of Rio De Janeiro.

Many references have been packed into the Kinfolk x Umbro collection. Moreover, the brands undertake an interesting approach that can be identified both as “hyperlocal,” as well as having strong ties with “Internationalism.”

The Brazilian streetwear capsule is scheduled to drop on July 25th. Consumers were offered a sneak peek in the form of a thematically motivated lookbook that draws inspiration from football culture. The images were captured by Brazil-based Ricardo Beliel. From motifs that call attention to football club Flamengo to wave prints that nod to Copacabana, the collection is well-curated.
