Airbnb’s original content is being created as a way to inspire potential customers to take more trips and book their accommodations. The plan to venture into content creation has been in the works for the past three years. This is a top-down initiative, as Airbnb’s CEO, Brian Chesky is said to be behind the idea. The Airbnb CEO’s wish to go forward with the project comes from his desire to make big splash moves and to be an all-encompassing travel company.

Airbnb has a history of standing out from other platforms in the industry. The company has previously partnered with Apple’s streaming service to produce a TV show titled Home, which focuses on unique residences around the world and their owners. From creating shows and films the company is clearly displaying intentions to be more than a booking platform.
