Desperados’ Event Invited People to Trade Their Phone for Beer & Dance
Over the course of a year, a series of Desperados events will be introduced as part of a crowdsourcing experiment called ‘Epic Parties Imagined by You.’
The first party brought an idea by Karolina Gilon from Poland to life, based on the fact that the way many people socialize—and party—with one another is changing thanks to the mobile devices they are constantly attached to. Desperados’ first Epic Parties Imagined by You gave people the chance to attend an “unplugged party” by trading their phone for a beer so that they could truly live in the moment rather than trying to capture their experience.
For the party, Desperados created a light show installation with 2,000 linked phone screens lining the walls of the venue.
