Cherry Blossom-Inspired Menus
In North America, the cherry blossom season is an opportunity for city dwellers to reconnect with the beauty of nature, as well as take some pictures for social media. In 2020, it was nearly impossible to safely enjoy the experience and in the name of continuing the tradition of celebrating the cherry blossom season safely, restaurants like Ancora Waterfront Dining and Patio launched specialized tasting menus. The Vancouver-based restaurant boasted the Sakura Tasting Menu, featuring high-end cuisine items like smoked black cod croquettes with sakura dust, tempura baby squid tacos with sakura blossoms, and grilled ribeye anticucho with sakura-infused potato crème. Of course, one cannot complete a good tasting menu without a dessert. Ancora boasts a sakura-infused blancmange with cherry blossom jelly.
