The popular room rental platform, Airbnb, dramatically disrupted the hotel industry but Honduras Maya Hotel is reclaiming some of that market in an intriguing new campaign called ‘HotelBnb.’

Depicted through a tongue-in-cheek marketing campaign, the hotel redecorated their rooms to adhere to the modern aesthetic popular on Airbnb and posted its room for rent on the platform. The commercial shows upset guests arriving at the hotel, expecting an apartment. The guests are quickly converted to happy travelers once they are shown the incredible amenities offered by the hotel for the same, low-cost as renting from Airbnb.

The HotelBnb campaign highlights new ways businesses are trying to recover market shares that were disrupted with the catapult of the sharing economy.
