Amazon Pays Tribute to Its Diverse Range of Employees with a New Logo

Amazon’s sign language logo is definitely one for the books. In an attempt to recognize the diversity in the company, as well as the opportunities that stem from this, the e-commerce site began this exciting and empowering project.

The initative is headed by Brendan Gramer who bears the title of a senior UX designer for the company’s Consumer Payment’s team. He, himself, is deaf and has been a strong presence in pushing Amazon’s in-house practices for the better. For example, under Gramer’s direction the AmazonPwD was launched. This is an “employee-led group focused on promoting diversity and inclusivity.”

The sign language logo incorporates six hands, a dotted Z and the signature smiling arrow. The hope is that it will be able to inspire tolerance, understanding and a “culturally positive environment” for the e-commerce giant.
